Choose something fun that you want to do. There are so many different ways to raise money, from a head shave to a cake bake competition, the list is endless. If it’s your first time fundraising keep it simple. You can always do something bigger next time.

Set a date, time and fundraising target. Give yourself plenty of time to prepare, the earlier you start planning the easier it will be. If you set yourself a fundraising target you will have a goal to aim for.

Be passionate. Share the reason you’re supporting aPODD and tell everyone that every penny you raise will help children with cancer. This will help keep you motivated and may even encourage others to support you and fundraise too!

Invite friends, family and colleagues to join you. Think about how your family and friends can get involved and support you. Maybe contact local businesses to see if they can help with raffle prizes or donations. If you work for a big company they might want to help too, see if they will match the amount you raise.

Tell everyone. Use Social Media to share your story and ask friends and family to share it too, the more people know what you’re doing the more likely you’ll hit your target. Tell your local newspaper and radio station what your doing, and put posters up at work promoting your challenge.

Tell us. Make sure you let the team at aPODD know what you’re doing, we’d love to help you in anyway we can. From offering advice on holding an afternoon tea to training tips for running a marathon, we’d love to hear from you. hello@apoddfoundation.org

Say thank you. After the event say thank you to all your supporters, tell them how much you’ve raised and what a difference this money will make to children with cancer.
